Job Purpose
Our Workday Project Manager (Contractor) will lead the implementation of the Workday Project and Human Resources transformation for the Americas region. The Incumbent will be responsible for leading and managing the project timeline, local design, change management, training, and people resources. Incumbent will partner with the various stakeholders including business leaders, the HR team, the Digital team, and the MCG Global Project team.
Principal Accountabilities
Please note: This role is a 1099 contractor-based role working remotely from the United States.
Manages project scope and deliverables for the Workday project and other projects.

Leads entire project ensuring deliverables, initiation, planning, implementation, systems integration, testing, training, activation support, and closure.

Leader of regional program team including MCG, consultant(s), and vendor(s) across workstreams.

Accountable for delivery of regional program plan aligned to overall global plan; manages in partnership with PMO.

Manages executive/senior-level stakeholders and partners including reporting and communication.

Responsible for regional governance by establishing processes, procedures, and a structure for communication, implementation, and monitoring; ensuring team norms and best practices are followed.

Leads resource planning and capacity management.

Collaborates with MCG regional counterparts to proactively solve, manage risk, and share lessons learned.

Trusted facilitator for conflict resolution.

Manages project team to meet objectives for initiatives that are moderate to complex in scope, risk, and stakeholder management.

Identifies, documents, manages, and communicates project risks, issues, and scope changes to stakeholders as appropriate.

Collaborates and communicates effectively with third-party vendors.

Defines and manages project requirements and deliverables and sets expectations with stakeholders throughout the project.

Collaborates with the Data Team and Global Project Team to develop training, testing, and activation plans to meet defined business requirements.

Provides leadership to Regional HR Project Leads and Business Change Champions.

Coordinates and manages workflow discussions for business, ensures documentation is complete, and appropriate approvals are obtained as necessary.

Performs analysis of project success and failures (lessons learned) to ensure continuous quality improvement.

Assures a smooth transition to end users and production support.

Defines and develops project governance structure and facilitates communication between stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

Builds and maintains strong relationships with project stakeholders and business sponsors by providing clear and concise communications.

Manages stakeholder and vendor engagement throughout the project life cycle.

Resolves escalation as necessary.

Travel Requirements:

This role requires up to 20% domestic travel and depends on business needs that are subject to change.

Knowledge / Skills / Experience
Experience and Certification Requirements:
5+ years of experience managing multiple large-scale/global Workday implementation projects and leading Workday payroll implementations is required.

Workday Payroll Certification specifically is not required but must have experience implementing Workday Payroll.

Techno-functional in Workday with an understanding of the Workday product and the technicalities of how a Workday implementation is done.

Workday HCM or Project Manager Certification is required.

Experience managing post-production support teams managing HCM, Absence, Payroll, Learning, Recruiting, and Performance.

Skills Requirements:
Ability to strategize, plan, and implement change.

Ability to supervise, coach, mentor, train, and evaluate work results.

Ability to work independently and in groups.

Ability to flex schedule for project implementations and travel as needed.

Knowledge and understanding of needs, goals, deliverables, and interdependencies of various functional groups and departments in a chemical and pharmaceutical environment.

Knowledge and understanding of technical disciplines including programmers, systems analysts, system administrators, enterprise architects, and engineers.

Knowledge of project management tools (MS Office Suite, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and MS Project).
