A philosophy that balances personal lifestyles, perspectives and needs is an important part of our culture.The D&I officer of Mid-America is a business leader and talent professional.  Their most important objective is increasing representation of diverse talent amongst Advisors and Field Management.  This professional will be skilled in many of the following areas: talent retention, talent development, D&I education, fostering inclusion, and business strategies that accelerate diverse recruiting.This individual will be a champion, collaborator, strategic partner, and thought leader for D&I who is also responsible for clarifying and prioritizing the highest impact initiatives to build a diverse workforce and leadership pipeline reflecting the diverse markets and communities that Wealth Management serves.  They will serve as a player/coach who sets goals and priorities and then works to meet them.  This D&I leader will work closely with the Regional Director of Mid America and the Head of Field Diversity and Inclusion for Wealth Management.  Other key partners include HR, Recruiting, Communications, Marketing, Local Affinity Groups and external partners.  The preferred location is Chicago, IL but also open to Detroit, MI.Job responsibilities include:•    Partner with complexes and branches on D&I business planning and execution•    Be expert in region-specific business metrics•    Know key diverse regional talent•    Know budget history and overall plan for year's key expenditures•    Deliver advice/value at key regional meetings (team meetings, QBRs, Talent reviews)•    Build relationships with leadership of key complex and branch offices through regular visits•    Communicate key messages as part of D&I chain of communication•    Codify and disseminate best D&I business practices to regions•    Serve as an advisor to local D&I councils•    Look for productive ways to improve the D&I morale and efforts of the complexes•    Meet with diverse candidates•    Advocate on behalf of diverse Advisors and Field Management talent•    Lead/execute region specific D&I initiatives•    Provides on-the-ground diversity and inclusion expertise, consultation and coaching•    Provides expertise and guidance to Field Management in staffing key roles as they become available and developing a pipeline of ready talent/succession plan for those rolesQualificationsExperience•    Bachelor's degree (or equivalent work experience); Masters preferred•    8-10 years of Diversity and Inclusion experience supporting senior/executive leaders•    Line of business and or functional experience beyond HR preferred•    Budget, project management experience a plus•    Talent development and education experience preferred•    Financial industry experience preferred but not requiredSkills/Abilities•    Collaborate with others and leads in an ambiguous, changing environment.•    Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of management and present information in a concise, persuasive manner•    Set goals and priorities and work to meet them•    Coordinate activities among other Field Diversity Officers•    Champion organizational change and broader human capital processes and practices.•    Overcome the status quo and deliver results through others.•    Develop and advance diverse talent across the organization.•    Ability to travel as neededSuccess Measures•    Successful implementation of initiatives and achievement of goals/targets outlined in the region-specific objectives and business plans•    Effective collaboration with business and regional/divisional teams•    Identification of and effective partnerships with local organizations and affinity groups that will further achievement of goals indicated in business planMorgan Stanley's goal is to build and maintain a workforce that is diverse in experience and background but uniform in reflecting our standards of integrity and excellence.
