The Opportunity As the Wireless Telecommunications Engineering Manager , you will have the opportunity to:

Telecommunications Infrastructure Wireless and fiber networks are the heartbeat of a connected community because they link the layers of physical devices and systems, data, and sensing to make a connected community possible. Key Responsibilities General Responsibilities: Proactively provides guidance and direction on department design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes and B&V policies. Assists in developing, maintaining and updating engineering standards. Provides technical guidance to others regarding projects and disciplines. Independently applies knowledge and ensures compliance with B&V quality program. Establishes related processes, and promotes a culture that is conducive to quality. Supports continuous improvement and change management efforts. Project Execution: Lead teams of engineers/technicians to drive completion of engineering deliverables in support of telecommunication projects. Develops and manages budget, schedule, and quality requirements across multiple disciplines for assigned projects. Keep the Client Directors, Market A/E teams, Site Acquisition & Construction personnel fully advised as to progress of the work and any developments involving change in the scope of the contract work or otherwise which could affect the contract requirements and fee and/or Client relationships. Understand project milestones. Monitor status of milestones and provide regular update of such to the project team.    Review the Client's comments and success parameters and verify that the Client's concerns are addressed. Check for impact on schedules, budget, and costs, and advise the Director of any needed changes.  Monitor and evaluate quality and progress of A&E subcontractor's work and self-performed work.  Attend meetings (Client review, Joint-Scoping, Kickoff, Jurisdiction review, etc.)  Support the market personnel in maintaining contact with the Client to monitor project work to the Client's satisfaction, and suggestions.   Drive efficiencies to produce work using processes, systems and tools.  Consistently and independently applies knowledge and complies with Black and Veatch quality program relative to assigned tasks The position will entail occasional travel to support field assignments, and meetings with clients and other organizations. Technical Expertise: Actively advances knowledge management of the enterprise and provides mentoring.  As a subject matter expert, has additional expertise in a technical area, participates in professional societies by presenting papers, participates on technical committees, and assists with code/standard authoring. Is externally recognized in industry as an expert which enhances the Company brand.  Operations/Management: Typically oversees performance management, career planning, recognition, learning and development, and corrective actions. Administrative responsibilities may include office administration. Ensures policies, procedures, and processes are effectively implemented and communicated for workgroup. Ensures adherence to corporate and division programs. May approve timesheets and expense reports.   Assists with performance management process, mentoring, recognition, and any corrective actions required.   May participate in career planning and learning and development (budgets, tools, processes, project support).   Supports resource management strategy.   Provide general oversight of engineering management teams and work with professionals to identify areas for growth and develop.  Preferred Qualifications Engineering and Design Management experience, with specific experience in Wireless Telecom industry Experience in managing design interaction between engineering disciplines Strong understanding of layout optimization and major equipment requirements, including LTE equipment  Excellent communication skills and interest in engaging with Clients to grow relationships Joint scoping experience Advanced knowledge of engineering design principles, and selection of applicable design guides and standards Advanced ability to interpret engineering deliverable content  Past field experience participating in the construction and/or commissioning of a similar facility   Working knowledge of development of testing and commissioning plans and procedures.   Intermediate knowledge of quality programs. Intermediate knowledge of procurement and contract administration.   P.E License preferred.  Minimum Qualifications Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing Minimum of 8 years related work experience All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations. Certifications Most positions – depending on the nature of work performed as defined by the division – will typically require incumbents to have professional registration or licensure in their designated home office country, or be in active pursuit* of such registration. Additional professional registration or licensure may be needed when practicing or on assignment in a different country. Exceptions may be approved  by division management on a case by case basis.
