Job Description: A highly acclaimed Dundee Hills Winery in search of a head winemaker for our 9K case production facility. A successful candidate will have a deep understanding of the entire winemaking process with experience in making elegant Pinot Noir.
*The head winemaker will be directly responsible for the day-to-day winemaking duties. A self-motivated, detail-oriented person who is hands-on in all aspects of winemaking. The head winemaker will manage the cellar team consisting of the assistant winemaker, and cellar hand to support all winemaking activities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Experience in making Pinot Noir
* Thorough knowledge of cellar, basic lab analysis, and harvest/vineyard operations
• Develop and maintain year-over-year winemaking, blending, and bottling plans for all wine programs, including red, white, and sparkling.
• Coordinate pre-bottling winemaking and wine blending activities to ensure that wines are prepared on time.•
• Conduct all stages of wine production, including fermentation and filtrations.
* Cross flow filtration knowledge a plus
• Create blends for and coordinate tasting trials.
• Keep state and federal records, as well as required in-house documents.
• Coordinate day-to-day cellar operations, cellar organization, and cleanliness .
• Keep informed/Stay current on industry trends, technical learnings, and new winemaking technology to ensure the highest of wine quality
• Plan production quantities with general manager/owners.
• Computer skills required
• Strong problem-solving and deductive reasoning skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work long hours and flexible days especially during the harvest period.
• Valid Driver's License and clean driving record.
* Provide support to Vineyard management team that involve winemaking objectives.
* Other duties as assigned to represent the winery at events

• Must be able to lift and or move up to 50lbs, and other physical duties are necessary.
