Wine & Spirits Sales Associate Location Brooklyn, NY (Boerum Hill area) : Greene Grape Wine & Spirits is seeking a sales associate for 15-25 hours per week. At Greene Grape Wine & Spirits, one of the most dynamic shops in Brooklyn, we sell wine from small producers, curated for quality, and we care about what goes into each and every bottle on the shelf. To put it simply, we only sell wines made with integrity, skill, and pride. This is a great position for someone studying wine or with a strong interest in wine and spirits, and a desire to work hard in a great shop.
Our ideal candidate:
Is a mature, self-starter, and hard worker with a strong sense of professionalism Loves wine and spirits, and learning about wine and spirits (formal wine study or hospitality experience is a plus) Enjoys learning and can pick up new concepts relatively quickly Is a reliable and supportive team member Can type and use a computer (POS system, Google Docs, MS Office). The ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 pounds Can work evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays DUTIES
Greet guests as they enter the shop, ask whether they would like assistance with anything and provide help if needed in a friendly, hospitable and efficient manner Engage with customers and provide recommendations of wines and spirits based on customer's stated preferences, needs and desires Remain knowledgeable about and answer questions related to products, promotions/sales, and store policies using resources provided by managers Answer customer questions about wine and spirits, take orders over the phone and assist in fulfilling web orders and setting them up for delivery Assist in maintaining in-store delivery schedule based on orders received each day Straighten, arrange, stock, and dust merchandise, and maintain shelving areas and displays as directed We know it's impossible to convey every single task for a particular job in a single job post.
