This role involves having a high level of benefit program knowledge and the ability to communicate effectively through writing, editing, promoting and presentation of the benefits and compliance materials. You will be responsible for communications of the SRP-sponsored benefit plans including wellness programs, major medical, mental and emotional health, dental, vision, life, disability, and several other optional programs. 
The Benefits Analyst will manage relationships with several vendors/consultants and collaborate interdepartmentally, including with Corporate Communications on a very regular basis. 
Our small, dynamic, and effective team connects participants to top tier benefits and services as part of the overall employee rewards program. The resolution of escalated claims and providing outstanding customer service to our plan members is also required.
This position will also support the benefits team with Open Enrollment planning, research, implementation, and be involved in this annual communications plan.
Work could also include analysis of plan performance, design, and financial analysis with reporting on benefit plan metrics and trends.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background and communication skills in health & welfare benefit plan administration, have strong analytical skills (quantitative and qualitative), be able to contribute to and/or lead team efforts to meet departmental objectives for health, wellness and welfare, be able to communicate and work effectively with internal customers and with SRP's partners, consultants, and vendors, to resolve compliance and administrative challenges.
What You'll Do • Assist with benefit program awareness and education for plan participants. 
• Management of multiple benefit vendor relationships.
• Plan wellness events with vendors and other company departments.
• Ensure internal and external communications to plan members are clear and meaningful in delivery of information.
• Work to ensure underlying benefit plan design is structured appropriately for active and retired employees to provide valued/sustainable benefits and coverage.
• Administer and guide SRP's Health & Welfare benefit plans consistent with SRP's strategy and near/long term business plans.
• Prepare and present data; clearly communicate information and present findings in a relevant, compelling, and actionable manner.
• Maintain a high level of contact with professional organizations, industry and employer entities and groups, governmental agencies, and community organizations to maintain currency in area of HR expertise.
• Provide support to ongoing project-related initiatives for SRP's core benefits. 
• Perform quality checks of benefits-related data using OWF and vendor reporting.
• Provide customer service to plan participants. 
What It Takes To Succeed: • Possess a strong background in benefits packages, policies, health and welfare benefit plan compliance and administration including knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations governing ERISA, HIPAA, and COBRA. 
• Ability to work in a team environment with a strong sense of urgency and confidentiality.
• Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal, analytical, and problem resolution skills (quantitative and qualitative)
• Strong Microsoft Excel and Office skills
• Sensitivity to clients' needs and ability to develop trusted client relationships. 
• Ability to learn in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Knowledge of: 
• SAP Employee Central, payroll, and accounting systems
• Knowledge of retiree medical plans, including Medicare 
• Experience and general knowledge of Compliance in Benefit Plan Administration. 
• Proficient in benefit enrollment and HR systems 

 
Experience Promotion to Level 2 requires a minimum of two years experience at Level 1 and demonstrated capability to perform advanced and more difficult work as determined by the supervisor. Promotion to Senior Level requires a minimum of 3 years experience at Level 2, is fully competent in all aspects of functional area of assignment and as such would be recognized as a specialist in area of assignment and may have periodic or occasional lead responsibilities.
Education Completion of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution that prepares the employee for the assignment.
Hybrid Workplace SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona.
