A Welder lays out, fits, assemblers, tack welds and straightens fabrications to blueprint specifications with the use of jigs, fixtures and/or instructions. A Welder lays outs, fits, tacks welds, pressure tight, tests and repairs to blueprint specifications all piping system, fuel tanks, or any other pressured vessel he may assigned excluding all hydraulic cylinders. A Welder uses the hand torches for free hand burning, simple heat-treating and gas welding and improvises jigs and fixtures for assembling and welding parts for production. A Welder maintains good housekeeping and safe working habits at all time.
Harsco Rail is only hiring 2nd Shift 2:00 pm - 10 pm M-F at this time. We have a shift bonus for this position. We are only hiring experienced welders at this time, preferably Fitters as well.
You must perform this job successfully with a High School Diploma/GED and Technical School. You must have 1-5 years of experience. You will have the ability to setup and utilize inspection equipment, ability to write in a clear and concise manner, ability to effectively present information and respond to questions, and ability to communicate welding issues to Supervisors and Welders.
You must have expert knowledge of Weld Symbols and Weld Positions used in production, ust be able to read and understand detailed drawings and welding procedures/specifications, must have experience using standard measuring tool, you are understanding of Print tolerances, you must have basic computer knowledge is required: Access and Excel. You will have ability to effectively plan and organize and have the ability to communicate with others
