Responsibilities
• Perform welding duties in all areas of SMAW and GMAW• Accurately use multiple types of cutting and gouging apparatus• Tolerate hot environments• Use various grinders, saws, drills, and porta-powers• Restore, fabricate, and repair metal structures• Maintain good housekeeping and work ethic• Maintain a good driving record and valid NC driver's license• Participate in a random company-wide drug test program• Lift up to 100 lbs and work in contortioned positions when welding or cutting• Use a PC is a plus but not required• Read and write to fill out repair orders• Interact with different personalities and work with minimal supervision• Report to the shop foreman and collaborate with other shop staff, mechanics, and welders
Requirements
• 2-4 years of experience in SMAW and GMAW welding• Ability to use cutting and gouging apparatus• Ability to tolerate hot environments• Good skills in using grinders, saws, drills, and porta-powers• Experience in metal structure restoration, fabrication, and repair• Good housekeeping and strong work ethic• Valid NC driver's license and good driving record• Willingness to participate in a random company-wide drug test program• Ability to lift 100 lbs and work in contortioned positions• Basic hand tools of the trade• Ability to use a PC is a plus• Ability to read and write
