POSITION SUMMARY:


The individual in this position is responsible for accurate physical receiving of materials/products in order to maintain integrity of inventory control and ensures delivery of daily packages/mail run to the proper department.


Additionally, the incumbent is to provide support to and work under the guidance of the supervisor to carry out responsibilities in accordance with SSI and Departmental policies and procedures. Other tasks and duties may be assigned from time to time.

JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: Receive Materials/products from vendor deliveries and unload trucks at the loading dock.(daily) Receive of Cylinders delivery to Gas rooms outside and inside the premise. ( weekly) Compare packing lists to company purchase orders and ensure that the products in each delivery match the packing list. ( daily ) Inspect, accept, or reject inbound shipments. Record and check quantity and quality of goods received. Perform physical lifting of various equipment 40 - 50 lbs . ( daily ) Communicate and coordinates with appropriate department for products return/repair. ( daily) Properly documents items received on purchase orders and forward to shipping office. ( daily) Delivery courier's packages and mail run to designated departments between two buildings. (daily) Assist in other area of warehouse operations. ( as needed) Maintain safe handling of warehouse equipment, including operating a forklift when required. (daily) Maintain a safe work environment in accordance with the department procedures and safety requirements, federal and State regulations. (daily) Wears personal protective equipment as required on the job (daily ) Maintain good housekeeping around work areas at all time (daily) Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other employees, supervisors and managers. Participate in working overtime including some Saturday work when necessary to meet business needs. (weekly) Participate in yearly physical inventory counting. (annual) SCOPE:


This position's primary focus is to ensure the effectiveness of the operation in all aspects of warehouse activities, quality of service to customers and maintaining the accuracy of stock movement in/out on physical performance and document control.

PROBLEM SOLVING REQUIREMENTS:


The incumbent is required to exercise independent judgment in routine matters governed by procedures.


EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:


Incumbent must have at least high school education and a minimum of 3-5 years related warehouse experience in domestic and international shipping operations including filing of loss/damage claims.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:


The position requires frequent lifting (or by other means for movement) of instrumentation/parts. Physical demands may include frequent bending; stooping, squatting, standing, walking, sitting for long periods of time and pulling/pushing of parts can also be expected. Incumbent must be able to lift up to 45 pounds routinely throughout the day. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.


SAFETY/PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT:


Position is required to maintain proper housekeeping and safety standards in particular to laboratory safety protocol. Proper use of personal protective equipment and safety devices as required by the Corporate Safety Document policies and procedures and/or customer dictated policy.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:


This position is an office based that required regular and predictable attendance. The position requires the incumbent to have the ability to work alone on projects, as well as, collaborating as part of team in order to support the needs of Shimadzu customers. Extra hours may periodically be required, in order to fulfill the functions required by this position. The position requires proper handling of public inquires in a prompt and friendly manner.
