Job Summary:
In the role of Vice President of Supply Management, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and steering our supply management vision. This leadership position involves crafting, executing, and leading cutting-edge supply management strategies and processes. Collaborating closely with senior operations leadership, plant managers, and supply management teams across various sites, you will drive talent development and spearhead process improvement projects. These projects aim to enhance delivery performance, reduce lead times, optimize costs, and refine supplier relationships for both direct and indirect materials. Your leadership will ensure the seamless integration of our business planning processes, balancing demand, capacity, and inventory planning with precision and strategic foresight.
Key Responsibilities:
Forge and communicate a compelling vision for enhancing stability, predictability, and continuous improvement within supply management.
Provide strategic direction and leadership in collaboration with the senior operations team, leveraging best practices to elevate supply management across all locations.
Initiate and oversee strategic supply management projects, fostering collaboration with the Sales and Operations Planning teams.
Lead our inventory planning process, implementing KPIs, scorecards, and tools to ensure sustainable and effective practices.
Champion operational excellence in supply chain capabilities, developing strategic plans to bolster productivity, quality, and operational efficiency.
Mentor team members on best practices in supply management, promoting knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
Engage with manufacturing and functional leaders to identify and implement process improvements.
Uphold company policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory laws and company safety standards.
Flexibility to adapt to additional duties and evolving responsibilities.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, operations, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
At least 15 years of experience in Supply Management/Procurement, with a proven track record in team leadership, process development, and achieving results.
Extensive experience in supply planning, production scheduling, materials management, and logistics.
Demonstrated ability in developing and implementing cost reduction and supplier optimization strategies.
Proficiency in Enterprise Resource Planning and Material Requirements Planning Systems.
Experience in a role that required a structured business planning process.
Certifications in CPSM/CPM and/or APICS are advantageous.
Comprehensive understanding of strategic sourcing initiatives.
Experience in supplier development and commodity management, with a focus on quality, cost, and delivery improvements.
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred.
Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, and a solid understanding of basic accounting practices.
Exceptional communication, organizational, time management, and project management skills.
Ability to lead business improvement projects effectively.
Expected travel: 30%, including overnight stays to provide leadership across manufacturing locations.
