About the Role:
As our VP of Accounting, you will play a crucial role in shaping the financial direction and integrity of our operations. Your expertise in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and technical accounting will be fundamental in managing our financial landscape. This role offers the unique opportunity to provide executive leadership while working closely with the Senior Vice President of Accounting to ensure our financial operations run smoothly and efficiently.
Key Duties:
Spearhead our monthly and quarterly close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in financial statements and reports.
Oversee the development and reporting of consolidated financial statements, ensuring they meet IFRS standards and are user-friendly.
Lead our consolidations process, collaborating with international teams to streamline intercompany reporting.
Direct the financial management of goodwill impairment, acquisitions, and debt instruments.
Conduct in-depth reviews and analyses across all key accounting domains to maintain accuracy and compliance.
Champion the completion and review of balance sheet account reconciliations, maintaining impeccable ledger standards.
Foster strong relationships with other departments to enhance reporting and strategic financial planning.
Navigate technical accounting issues, facilitating discussions with both external auditors and our internal team.
Drive the external audit process and corporate cash forecasting.
Ensure optimal team performance, aligning staffing and responsibilities with our strategic objectives.
Lead the charge in internal policy development and process improvements, enhancing efficiency and internal controls.
Engage in M&A activities, guiding due diligence, and integration efforts from an accounting perspective.
What We're Looking For:
A bachelor's degree in accounting, with a master's degree or business qualification highly regarded.
CPA certification is a must-have.
A rich background in audit, financial reporting, and corporate consolidations, totaling 12-15 years of experience.
A solid grasp of IFRS and strong technical accounting skills, especially in revenue recognition and debt instruments.
Exceptional analytical abilities, coupled with superior Excel skills.
Experience with Oracle and/or Planful is beneficial.
A proactive approach to identifying and resolving accounting issues.
The ability to thrive in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment, with a flexible work schedule.
