As a crucial member of the senior leadership team, the VP of People Operations will be responsible for managing and optimizing the day-to-day operations of the HR function. You will oversee key areas such as HRIS (Human Resources Information System) administration, total rewards, payroll processing, benefits management, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives. Your strong leadership will ensure that HR operations run smoothly, efficiently, and in alignment with organizational goals and priorities, contributing to Torc's objectives and product commercialization. You will play a pivotal role in fostering Torc's growth and maturity and ensuring alignment with evolving corporate HR trends and business needs.
What you'll do: 
Leadership:
Lead and develop a team of HR operations professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and performance feedback.Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the HR operations team.Cultivate relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners to support HR initiatives and organizational objectives.Align strategic people investments through total rewards and recognition programs that foster a pay for performance culture.Lead the Total Rewards strategy and programs to determine and maintain competitiveness in all markets globally.HRIS Administration:
Lead and mentor the team responsible for administration and maintenance of the HRIS, ensuring data accuracy, system functionality, and compliance with policies and regulations, resolution of issues and providing guidance and support to users.Oversee system upgrades, enhancements, and integrations, collaborating with IT and vendors as needed.Payroll Processing:
Ensure management of end-to-end payroll processing, including data collection, validation, reconciliation, and distribution.Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations and reporting requirements.Partner with Finance and Accounting teams to reconcile payroll-related accounts and address discrepancies.Benefits Management:
Oversee employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, stock program, leave policies, and other voluntary benefits.Ensure team responsible for benefits enrollment, changes, and terminations are communicating effectively with employees and vendors.Ensure timely responsiveness to employee inquiries regarding benefits eligibility, coverage, and claims resolution.Compensation:
Oversee Total Rewards philosophy and strategy, and design compensation offerings to include market competitive base salaries, bonus and stock aligned to Torc job architecture.Ensure partnership between Compensation Advisors with Talent Acquisition and HR Business Partners; working in a consultative manner to develop specific recommendations to attract, motivate, and retain key talent.Lead global market pricing process, including job matching.Manage survey participation and analyze competitive market data to ensure the achievement of equitable and competitive employee compensation.Support the annual and mid-year compensation processes.Compliance and Reporting:
Stay abreast of changes in employment laws and regulations, ensuring HR policies and practices remain compliant.Prepare and submit required government reports, filings, and audits related to HR operations.Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement and mitigate compliance risks.Manage immigration compliance, including visa processing, record keeping and advising on immigration matters.Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities to streamline HR processes, increase efficiency, and enhance the employee experience.Lead process improvement initiatives, leveraging technology and best practices to drive operational excellence, enhance data-driven decision making and improve the employee experience.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process changes and monitor their effectiveness.Technology Integration and Data Enablement:
Use data analytics to inform HR decisions and strategies to help identify trends, measure effectiveness of HR initiatives, and make informed decisions.Provide data guidance to team and other HR and business leaders to enhance their knowledge to make business decisions.Transformation and Change Management:
Incorporate strong change management skills to effectively lead the organization through various HR operational and business transformations.What you'll need to Succeed: 10+ years of progressive experience in HR operations, with a strong understanding of HRIS, payroll, and benefits administration with at least 6 years in a leadership role.Proven track record of developing and executing strategic people initiatives globally that drive organizational performance and employee engagement.Deep understanding of culture with experience leading cultural transformation efforts.Strong business acumen and ability to align HR strategies with key stakeholders, business objectives and priorities.Exceptional leadership, communication, and influencing skills, with the ability to build relationships and drive change at all levels of the organization.Ability to motivate others, especially during times of uncertainty and ambiguity.Analytical mindset, with a people focus, and an ability to assess complex situations and develop practical solutions.Proficiency in HRIS systems, payroll software, and Microsoft Office Suite.Knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or other relevant HR certifications preferred.Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; Master's degree preferred.MBA is a plus.Lean Six Sigma Certification is a plus.Perks of Being a Full-time Torc'r Torc cares about our team members and we strive to provide benefits and resources to support their health, work/life balance, and future.
