With the training and support of management staff and coworkers you will serve as one of the science ambassadors for Kentucky Science Center. The VS Department is responsible for meeting our visitor's needs in the following areas of service: admissions and ticket sales, retail sales, theater, concessions, lunchroom, information-sharing, and phone reservations.Areas of Concentration:Front Line – Tickets Sales/Retail Sales/Information-sharing (80%)Front Line – Cleaning/Organizing/Stocking (10%)Front Line – Phone sales and inquiries (10%)Responsibilities:· Give accurate information to visitors 100% of the time.· Serve a diversified public (children, parents, adults and teachers) with a positive professional, energetic GLOWING attitude.· Effectively market Science Center products and programs to customers.· Complete transactions accurately and efficiently.· Prepare accurate daily balance reports.· Maintain a clean, neat, and well-stocked work area.· Assist in inventory activities.· Assist in retail and admissions sales onsite at the flagship facility as well as the location at the Mall St Matthews.· Maintain high levels of cleanliness.· Answer and return phone calls in a timely manner.· Communicate and work in a team manner with co-workers and volunteers to ensure a smooth operation.· Perform other tasks, as assigned.· Report to work in a timely manner and maintain a strict time schedule.· Maintain flexibility to work days, nights, and weekends, as well as holidays.QualificationsRequirements· A working knowledge of Point of Sale systems and standards.· Strong attention to detail and commitment to a positive visitor experience· Able to work efficiently without direct supervision.· Able to work a flexible schedule: we are a seven day a week operation at multiple locations.· Problem and puzzle solving in both physical and electronic formats.· A team player with high emotional intelligence.· A love for continuous learning and growth.· A commitment to our mission, vision, values and service philosophy.Kentucky Science Center requires that all team members provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination.Additional InformationHiring ProcessKentucky Science Center celebrates diversity and is committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees and guests.
