Provides leadership and strategic direction related to Marketing initiatives and programs. Responsible for overall Marketing strategy for the Casino and Resort including planning, developing and directing advertising and marketing activities. Responsible for the Entertainment, Promotions, Advertising, Database Marketing, Rewards Club, Graphics Departments and Player Development
Develops and implements an effective strategy for growth and efficiency of marketing operations in the resort and casino as it relates to the overall property. Establish an annual marketing plan to support the goals of the organization, including market share and profitability. Formulates short and long-term marketing plans to support the organization's mission, vision, and goals. Plans, directs and participates in daily marketing schedules; coordinates ongoing and new projects. Direct research activities to gather information and statistics pertinent to maximize data base marketing activities, planning and execution of advertising and promotional campaigns and to minimize the effects of competitive activity. Plan and oversee the organization's advertising and promotional activities including print, electronic and direct mail utilizing in-house and outside agencies. Control department budget and take corrective action to ensure that programs are within budget and on time. Evaluate reactions to marketing programs and meets changing market and competitive conditions. Recommend changes to ensure the effective fulfillment of objectives and to move swiftly to counter marketing problems. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Requires strong leadership and motivational skills. Will interact with various levels of staff, management, government officials, and the public. Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training team members; maintaining a safe, secure, and legal work environment; developing personal growth opportunities. Accomplishes staff results by communicating job expectations; grooming standards, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining team members; developing, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards. Ten (10) years Casino experience with in-depth knowledge of advertising, promotions, entertainment design, special events, direct mail, players tracking and public contract. Team leader and innovator relating to marketing concepts. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of classified information. Must be competent with various PC based software programs. Ability to tactfully and diplomatically deal with the public and staff. Must possess excellent business sense and high professional ethics. Must possess a high regard for guest service and team member relations. Ability to handle high volume, fast-paced environment.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree in related field required. Ten (10) years Marketing experience with a minimum of five (5) years in Executive Casino Management required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS: Must undergo and successfully pass a background investigation to obtain and maintain a gaming license issued by the Morongo Gaming Agency.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Exceptional reading, writing and public speaking skills are important to the successful conduct of this position. Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical reports, general business periodicals, professional journals or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, rates, ratio, proportions and percentages.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Ability to apply legal, regulatory and procedure doctrine, concepts and policy to practical situations. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The team member frequently is required to walk and reach with hands and arms. The team member is occasionally required to sit. The team member must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those a team member encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. This is a fast-paced work environment and the position requires the ability to cope with it. The casino environment has moderate to loud noise levels and is a smoking environment.
WORKING HOURS: Because we are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, most positions require flexibility in scheduling and may require team members be available for evenings, weekends, holidays and special events. A typical workweek and normal work schedules may vary based on business needs and may include scheduled shifts Monday through Sunday. Position may require overtime.
