The role will reside within the Morgan Stanley's Operational Risk Department (ORD) focusing on Fraud Risk Management.Operational Risk refers to the risk of financial or other loss, or potential damage to a firm's reputation, resulting from inadequate or failed internal processes, people, systems, or from external events (e.g., fraud, legal and compliance risks or damage to physical assets). Management works with the business units and control groups to help ensure Morgan Stanley has a transparent, consistent, and comprehensive program for managing operational risk, both within each area and across the firm globally. This group designs, implements and monitors the company-wide operational risk program.Location:  Baltimore, MDMorgan Stanley is seeking a dynamic and high-performing Vice President to join the Fraud Risk team within 2nd Line Operational Risk.The Fraud Risk function works with all Business Units and other functional areas across the Firm, including the dedicated Fraud Operations function in the first line of defense, to support proactive identification, prevention and detection of Fraud risks. The role is dynamic and multi-faceted with high levels of exposure across the Firm, and significant responsibility in driving governance and risk management for fraud risk.Primary Responsibilities May Include:-  Oversight and challenge of fraud risks of certain MS businesses, including external fraud relating to account takeover, identity theft, new account fraud and first party fraud for both the online and offline channels-  Collaborate with and also challenge first line in the design, configuration and implementation of mitigating tools and surveillance capabilities, as appropriate-  Drive management and evolution of anti-fraud governance, strategy and framework-  Maintain, enhance and oversee required fraud policies, procedures, methodology and standards-  Manage the Fraud Risk Assessment Program, which is embedded in the Firm's Risk and Control Self Assessment-  Own monthly and quarterly risk management reporting of Fraud-relevant data-  On-going communication with relevant partners, including Fraud Operations, Fraud Technology and supporting functions/business-An undergraduate degree (B.A., B.S., or equivalent) required-Eight to twelve years of financial services experience, including exposure to Fraud Risk mitigation disciplines and techniques-Knowledge of fraud threats and schemes desirable-Understanding of fraud technology, including authentication and identity verification tools, and surveillance and analytics tools-Sound knowledge of relevant Wealth Management, Banking, Financial Holding Company and securities fraud regulations-Strong technical understanding of wealth management and digital banking solutions and services, channels and associated technologies, most notably digital platforms-Strong risk, process and control validation and/or assessment skills - a prior role within consulting or internal audit covering risk processes is desirable-Strong communication, analytic, risk management, and program management skills-Demonstrated ability to collaborate across multiple functional areas while maintaining suitable independence and effective challenge-Exposure to Qlikview, Tableau or other BI capability desirable-Strong MS PowerPoint and MS Excel skills desiredMorgan Stanley's goal is to build and maintain a workforce that is diverse in experience and background but uniform in reflecting our standards of integrity and excellence.
