About the Role
The Company is in search of a Vice President for Alumni Affairs and Development, who will serve as the chief fundraising officer and lead the institution's efforts in alumni engagement and philanthropic support. This strategic and experienced leader will be responsible for creating and executing a comprehensive fundraising plan, including a major capital campaign, and will work to maximize philanthropic support in line with the organization's values and priorities. The role involves providing leadership for the advancement office, supervising a high-performance development team, and personally engaging in the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of gifts. The successful candidate will also be expected to collaborate with senior leadership, trustees, and alumni, and to participate in strategic discussions to strengthen the financial resources of the organization.Candidates for this position at the company should hold a Master's degree in a relevant field, with a preference for a Doctorate, and have at least ten years of successful development experience, including a proven track record in building comprehensive fundraising programs. Strong management and oversight experience in development, alumni relations, and communications is essential, as is the ability to lead, coach, and develop staff. The role requires outstanding relationship building, collaboration skills, and a self-starter with a strategic mindset. Experience with online fundraising, social media, and strong organizational skills in donor and alumni information management are also necessary. The Vice President will be expected to engage and encourage the community to actively support fundraising activities and to coordinate special events in collaboration with the Board of Trustees and the Alumni Council.
