The Leidos Antarctic Support Contract has an opening for a

Vehicle Fleet Administration Manager . The Vehicle Fleet Administration Manager will manage the administration and life cycle replacements of a diverse fleet of vehicles and equipment for the National Science Foundation. Fleet locations include McMurdo Station, South Pole Station, Palmer Station, all field areas and camps, Pt. Hueneme CA, Christchurch NZ and Punta Arenas Chile.
*** Deployment to Antarctica may be necessary at the discretion of management (approximately 3 to 8 weeks/year). The candidate in the position must complete the physical and dental examinations required by the NSF for deploying to Antarctica. ***
Due to contract requirements, US Citizenship is required.
Must obtain a Public Trust security clearance prior to start date. This process could take up to 4 months.
Our anticipated salary range for this role is $110,000 to $120,000.
About the Antarctic Support Contract:
Leidos Antarctic Support Contract (ASC) is the prime contractor to the National Science Foundation (NSF) in support of the United States Antarctic Program (USAP). Leidos supports the NSF's Office of Polar Program's Antarctic Infrastructure and Logistics by aligning with their Mission and Vision Statements:

Expanding our scientific reach in Antarctica through increased operational and logistical effectiveness.
Mission:

To provide the operational and logistical platform necessary for the U.S. to conduct world-class science in Antarctica and maintain its active and influential presence on the continent.
Leidos ASC provides science and logistics support for approximately 150 science and technical events across three geographically remote research stations; McMurdo Station, Palmer Station, and South Pole Station and several deep field sites across Antarctica. Each station or field site supports world class research across multiple science disciplines. The planning and implementation of science support requirements in Antarctica is a critical part of our mission.

The Challenge:
Maintain and mature Life Cycle Replacement, Fleet Management Plans, Fleet Evaluations, 80+ Day Down Fleet Health Plan.
Ensure timely collection and reporting of auditable, internal and external customer-driven data, such as the annual Federal Automotive Statistical Tool (FAST) report.
Lead and facilitate weekly and other recurring status meetings and stakeholder discussions. Facilitate development and maintenance of near term and long range plans for fleet maintenance, upgrades and reductions in collaboration with senior and departmental leadership, mission support stakeholders and asset users.
Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of customer roles, requirements, constraints, priorities and timelines.
Develop and maintain fiscally responsible business cases for Fleet evolution based on industry standards and local considerations.
Provide unifying oversight of vehicle maintenance activities and methods at all three stations
Supervise and support one direct report, Fleet Analyst
Develop Statements of Work and other required documentation for equipment procurements.
Lead development and quality control of all fleet data collection, reporting, visualization and analysis.
Track and report progress of asset procurements from generation through to delivery and commissioning.
Forecast downrange fleet requirements or constraints. Research and develop plans for implementation of technical or process solutions.
Leverage emerging industry techniques, process and technology.
Provide efficient response to ASC (Antarctic Support Contract) and NSF National Science Foundation) customer data calls.
Provide a unified Fleet presence to the USAP (United States Antarctic Program) community and the NSF client.
Liaise frequently with other functional and area managers to review schedules and projects. Able to understand financial trends and provide corrective actions as necessary to maintain fiscal health throughout the year.
Develop and review Fleet standard operating procedures to ensure they are up to date with each geographical location.
Provide technical and administrative continuity for ASC Fleet at Antarctic stations by maintaining historical and current files and monitoring progress on a year-to-year basis.
Leverage computerized maintenance management system (Maximo) to store and manage all operational data points to include maintenance, work activities, asset lifecycle management, procurement, etc.
Performs other duties as required.
What Sets You Apart:
Bachelor's degree in Fleet Management and/or Business Administration or related area is preferred. Additional years of experience in a supervisory or management role, and/or relevant certifications will be considered in lieu of degree.
5+ years of diversified experience in Fleet Management (preferably in locations with multiple-brand fleets).
Career record must include the demonstrated ability to work with and independently manage a multiple skilled work force and strong financial background, including at least four years of supervisory and management experience.
Must be a highly motivated self-starting team player with effective written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong work ethic and willing to work cross functionally to complete assigned tasks.
You May Also Have:
Lean Six Sigma (LSS) Certification and Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification strongly desired.
