AEDD Children's Learning Center is now accepting applications for part time Van Riders. Must be 18 years or older and have a High School Diploma or GED. Must be able to pass drug test and criminal background checks. EOE/M/F Pay : $12.00per hour Schedule : 5:45-8:00am / 2:45-5:00pm (split shift)
Job Summary : The bus/van rider ensures safe delivery of children to and from SGSCLC by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, other duties may be assigned.
Will pick-up and drop-off children in their classrooms and will complete required forms such as sign-in sheet. Riders will complete the health inspection form to ensure children's personal property remains with them. Supervise children at all times to ensure safety of the children during transportation to and from the facility. Children must be secured in the appropriate seats based upon age and must remain seated at all times. Daily transportation/trip sheets are required for each route. They must have the driver's and rider's signature, date, beginning mileage, and ending mileage. Riders will handle all cell-phone communication. Daily, check the transportation log at the front desk for any transportation changes. Rider's will assistance Driver's with pre and post trip inspections. Advises parents/guardians to communicate all concerns and/or changes to the Transportation Manager Responsible for reporting all concerns and/or complaints to the Transportation Manager Will follow transportation policies and procedures specific to SGSCLC. Qualifications : To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience: High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required.

Safety Sensitive Position : This is a safety sensitive position as it involves operating a motor vehicle as part of the job duties and a lapse of attention could result in injury, illness, or death to the consumers being transported. See Ark. Const. Amend. 98 2(25). All positions classified as safety must refrain from reporting to work or being subject to duty while their ability to perform job duties is impaired due to the use of alcohol or other drugs. All positions classified as safety sensitive are prohibited from testing positive for metabolites of substances that are listed in the schedules of the Federal Controlled Substances Act and the Arkansas Uniform Controlled Substances Act, regardless of whether the employee possesses a medical marijuana registry identification card. See id. at 3(f)(3)(B)(iii). This policy applies during all work hours, whenever conducting business for AEDD. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and smell. The employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is frequently required to sit and climb or balance.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
