Validation Engineer Sterilization (Manufacturing & Production) Location Kenilworth, NJ : RELOCATION TO SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH METRO AREA REQUIRED! SUMMARY Proficiency in interpreting and comprehending PID, plans, blueprints, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams. Expertise in the maintenance and operation of Fire alarm systems, BAS (Building Automation System), and control/instrumentation systems (PPM, LEL alarm systems, Lesni/chamber controls, SCADA, etc.). Understanding of electrical classifications and regulations about hazardous areas.
RESPONSIBILITIES Supervise regular maintenance tasks for sterilization equipment and facilities' HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems. Diagnose issues with critical utilities and systems linked to sterilization equipment and ancillary systems, such as steam boilers, hot water, chilled water, vacuum, and nitrogen systems. Address maintenance and repair needs for the HVAC, electrical, lighting, and plumbing systems in the Sterilization building. Coordinate with external contractors for specialized projects and routine services concerning sterilization equipment and ancillary systems. Lead projects involving the installation of new equipment, equipment upgrades, and building enhancements. Conduct validation procedures for new equipment and processes (Installation Qualification, Operational Qualification, Performance Qualification, Factory Acceptance Testing). Develop validation protocols as needed. Provide expertise to support continuous improvement, quality enhancement, and cost-saving initiatives related to sterilization equipment processes and support systems. Organize annual equipment requalification activities. Schedule and oversee the two annual plant shutdowns (in July and December). Manage project budgets, spare parts inventory, and maintenance expenses. Ensure adequate spare part inventories are maintained. Perform calibration tasks as required. Lead or participate in the sterilization Emergency Response Team. Be available for overtime work as necessary. Maintain flexibility in working hours to accommodate business needs, including participation in annual plant shutdowns. Be on-call to address after-hours and weekend repair calls. Adhere to all relevant local, state, federal, and safety regulations, including those set by the company, such as RCRA Hazardous Waste, EPA, DAQ, and DEQ regulations. Follow the company's quality policies, procedures, and practices consistently to ensure compliance with quality assurance principles. Fulfill any other duties as assigned. EDUCATION, PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS 5+ to 7 years of experience in the industry
Necessary Qualifications (at least one of the following options):
Possession of a Bachelor's Degree in engineering along with a minimum of 5 years of experience. Completion of an associate degree coupled with 10 years of relevant experience. Certification as a Journeyman in a skilled trade, supplemented by 10 years of practical experience. Desirable Criteria:
Background in Risk Management or Process Safety Management. Possession of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a relevant field. B24-00004
