Utilization Management Customer Service Representative Location Olympia, WA : This is a full-time, in-office position in Olympia, WA - Not eligible for remote work Summary / Objective: The UM Customer Service Specialist supports the Utilization Management department by fielding customer and provider facing inquiry calls regarding authorizations, managing outbound mailing requests, sorting incoming authorization requests into appropriate work queues, and by verbally communicating approvals and denials to providers and members.
Essential Functions: Responsible for processing outgoing mail for Utilization Management department Manage overnight mailing requests including cataloging of dates, times, and tracking numbers Respond to phone calls, voicemails, and email traffic to provide updates on authorization status Label and sort incoming electronic fax traffic Communicate via verbal notification approvals and denials to providers and members Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Excellent attention to detail a must Entry-level professional within field. Requires basic skill set and proficiency Sets a positive example by displaying a pleasant and approachable demeanor and remaining friendly and courteous. Proactive team player, strong follow through, quick decision-making abilities and ability to problem solve. Interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships at all levels. Strong verbal and written communication skills with customers, supervisors, and co-workers. Strong organizational, time management and prioritization skills. Self-starter. Ability to set priorities and keep to projected schedules. Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office - Word, Excel, and Outlook) including being able to effectively maintain written and computer records in accordance with regulatory agencies. This is a full-time, in-office position in Olympia, WA - Not eligible for remote work Required Education and/or Work Experience: High School diploma One (1) year or more in data entry or related experience Excellent history of attendance and on-time performance Preferred Education and/or Work Experience: Knowledge or experience of Medicare payment rules and fee schedules. Knowledge and understanding of Relational Databases PSW offers the following employee benefits:
Benefit Current 2024 Base Salary Benchmarked to 50-75th percentile of comparable position Annual Incentive (Pro-rated in first year for partial year participation)
5% annual bonus, subject to employee and company performance Paid-Time Off (PTO) and Holidays 19 paid vacation and sick days/year (increases to 22 days in year 3 and 26 days in year 5+)
11 paid holidays/year
7 paid Extended Illness days/year
Medical Insurance PSW will pay 100% of the base plan employee premium. Dental Insurance PSW will pay 100% of the base plan employee premium. Vision Insurance PSW will pay 100% of the employee premium. Life Insurance All benefit eligible staff are provided a $40,000 life insurance policy via PSW. This policy remains in effect during your employment. Health Savings Account (HSA) Individual plans will receive up to $3,000/year and family plans will receive up to $4,200/year.
Employees that enroll in an HSA medical plan will receive contributions from PSW into their HSA. Flexible Spending Account (FSA) o Healthcare FSA: $3,000/year
o Dependent Care FSA: $5,000/yea
401(k) Retirement PSW offers a 401(k) plan and employer match up to 4% of an employee's gross earnings Tuition Reimbursement PSW will pay up to $5,250/year to employees with at least one year of employment
