Team/Function OverviewThis Director within the Risk Framework function of the USPB Risk CAO organization is a senior position responsible for defining and managing strategy, vision and roadmap for strong risk management for US Personal Banking, consumer portfolios in international markets, and Citi Wealth Management – through holistic management of retail credit risk framework components, integration and alignment across retail credit, wholesale credit and Enterprise risk management frameworks, and driving transformation of underlying processes by assessing compliance to related regulations and policies, effective challenge of both 1st and 2nd line credit execution against risk framework and target operating model expectations.This role will work with senior executives (including CROs and Managing Directors) and their organizations across 1st and 2nd Lines of Defense to define/evolve risk management strategy and manage alignment of strategic initiatives spanning risk policy, frameworks, monitoring, oversight process and controls analysis, quality assurance and digitization to ensure holistic roadmap and progress towards strong risk management.Given the scale and complexity of the businesses and functions involved, and they are all being transformed, this role requires a dynamic, agile and articulate leader passionate about brining groups together to define and progress comprehensive risk management strategy in a dynamic, demanding, agile team with fast changing needs. This role will need to be adept at working in this environment, handle ambiguity and complexity well, be able to deliver on multiple responsibilities and most importantly be extremely 'hands on'.Key Responsibilities:Partner with key stakeholders to develop / update risk framework to deliver strong risk management oversight, self-assess compliance against Heightened Standards and applicable Regulations, and alignment of policy to risk management principles and risk execution including controls. Act as key framework SME to drive exam prep / management, and issue governance for Retail Credit Risk.As the key Subject-Matter-Expert (SME) of non-tech transformation for Retail Credit, perform oversight and challenge on various transformation efforts – including design, execution, and dependencies of these transformation progress, to ensure design and execution are fully aligned with strong risk management target state and Enterprise Risk Management Target Operating Model (ERM TOM), and components like policy, process, controls, infrastructure, reporting are fully embedded in Business-As-Usual (BAU). Specifically this role also reviews and assesses progress of remediation effort related to such transformation efforts to ensure that meet regulators and internal audit expectations. Drive risk framework strategy improvements and oversee translation of strategic vision to execution plans through partnership with Risk / Business SMEs and senior leaders across 1st & 2nd LOD.Analyze and evaluate risk framework and risk management business processes, anticipate requirements, and identify areas for transformative / digitization improvements for effective and efficient integration of consumer and wealth business and risk practices. Participate in preparing regular and time-sensitive ad-hoc deliverables to the regulators and senior managements, support and advance key initiatives related to risk framework.Connect-the-dots: Identify thematic areas of review / analysis of emerging risks and share with key stakeholders to determine if self-identified issues should be opened. Act and serve as thought leader to support delivery of simpler and stronger target operating model.Regularly and effectively communicate with senior stakeholders, both verbally and written, the strategic vision of target state risk management strategy, as well as progress of path to strong effort.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred12+ Years of Experience in a mix of the following functions: risk management and oversight, strategic consulting, policy and risk framework, process enhancements or transformation rolesExperience in retail /wholesale credit risk, as well as wealth risk management preferredStrong ability in influencing senior stakeholders including CROs and MDs, including Internal Audit and RegulatorsExperience in managing complex projects with diverse stakeholder groups.
