Additionally, the Center has led the development of historic, proactive legislation advancing robust protections for reproductive rights and has built the legal capacity of women's rights advocates in more than 65 countries and counting.
The Role: The Center for Reproductive Rights seeks an experienced and self-driven Senior Payroll and Compliance Manager. This person will be responsible for managing semi-monthly payroll for the Center's US workforce (+- 150 people) as well as US compliance requirements related to the payroll function.
This position is the first point of contact for US team members for queries regarding payroll, taxes and compliance. Therefore, this person is expected to provide excellent customer service and ensure timely resolution of any inquiries. Given the nature of this role, this person is expected to be detail-oriented and demonstrate strong operational and analytical skills. This person is a team player and will collaborate with all team members in the HR Department, as well as with other departments on different initiatives and day-to-day tasks. This role will ensure process efficiency, adherence to various HR compliance laws and regulations, and accurate and timely HRIS data entry for payroll.
This role will be based in a hybrid model of 3 days working in office and 2 days working from home. Covid-19 Vaccination is required for all U.S.-based employees of the Center.
Primary Responsibilities: The responsibilities under this role include, but are not limited to:
Payroll: Serve as main point of contact for all employees for any payroll queries. Ensure timely and accurate entry of any payroll-related data into the HRIS, including reviewing new hire data entered by other HR team members. Work with the Global Compensation and Benefits Manager to ensure accuracy of benefit-related data in the HRIS. Process US Payroll on a semi-monthly basis and collaborate with the Finance Department on the review and approval process. Manage any tax profile changes for US employees. Liaise with the US payroll provider and state DOLs as needed to resolve problems or queries. Perform all necessary audits to ensure accuracy of data and compliance. Together with the Director of Global Human Resources, work with the HRIS/payroll provider on any system updates, changes, etc. Compliance: Manage HR compliance requirements for the US (incl. audits, filings, trainings, etc.) Manage ad-hoc compliance requests. In collaboration with the Senior Global HR Manager, ensure the HR Compliance Calendar is up to date and that deadlines for the US are being met. Support the Senior Global HR Manager and the Director of Global Human Resources in writing and maintaining HR policies. Collaborate with other departments on any compliance requests (e.g. financial audits, insurance applications and renewals, grant reporting, etc.) Other projects may be assigned as needed or required. Qualifications: University Degree (Bachelor or higher) in relevant field such has Human Resources, Business Administration or Finance. Payroll-related certificate is a plus. 10+ years of relevant work experience in payroll administration. Proven ability to navigate and comply with local regulations, filings and compliance requirements, and ability to learn about new requirements. Excellence in customer service and interpersonal skills. Steadfast attention to detail. Demonstrated commitment to the mission. Flexibility and ability to work professionally in a fast-paced environment. Fluency in Microsoft Suite. Experience with HRIS and payroll databases. Self-motivation and ability to work independently, while also collaborating in a team setting. Ability to complete assignments in a timely manner, often under considerable time pressure, and to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Capacity to receive and accept constructive feedback, as well as to address it. Exceptional organizational and time-management skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Compensation: The annual salary for this position is $125,000. This salary is reflective of a position based in New York. This salary will be subject to a locality adjustment, if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting. Note that most of the salaries listed on our job postings reflect New York, NY salaries, where our National offices are headquartered.
