Job summary
Under limited supervision, this position will direct and implement a variety of administrative tasks to assist the President's Chief of Staff of the Medical University of South Carolina.This position serves as part of an administrative support structure for the Office of the President.The successful candidate will be a very detail-oriented team player working collaboratively with the president's support team to meet the office deadlines and demands.

Responsibilities
• Provides administrative support for the Chief of Staff, to include managing the schedule/calendar, schedule in-house and external meetings, making travel arrangements, screening and handling telephone communications, greeting and directing visitors, and dealing with administrative problems and inquiries as appropriate. (20%)• Assist in the support of the Office of the President to include the President, First Lady, EA, and Project Manager and act as back-up for the EA as needed. (10%)• Serves as a primary point of direct administrative contact and liaison with other offices, individuals, and external institutions and agencies on a range of specified issues; organizes and facilitates meetings, conferences, and other special events, as required, prepare presentations, spreadsheets, and reports. (10%)• Gathers, enters, and/or updates data to maintain departmental records and databases, as appropriate; establishes and maintains files and records for the office, update office policies as needed. (10%)• Assists with project development and planning to ensure more efficient service and organization of the office. (10%)• Composes and prepares written documentation and correspondence for the office; screens and evaluates incoming and outgoing correspondence and prepares responses as appropriate. (10%)• Assists in the coordination, supervision, and completion of special projects as appropriate. (10%)• Supports the financial services of the office. (10%)• Other duties as assigned. (10%)
Requirements
• A high school diploma and five years relevant experience in business management, public administration or administrative services; or a bachelor's degree and three years experience in business management, public administration or administrative services.
