Responsibilities
• Manage the clerical functions of the nursing unit necessary to provide patient care• Demonstrate competency in the criteria listed in the job description• Be flexible for reassignment to units providing care to varied populations• Assist in the direct care and management of patients with medical and behavioral issues as directed by the treatment team• Assist with unit programming to facilitate therapy issues, leisure activities, and activities of daily living of patients• Possess knowledge of dual diagnosis/chemical dependency/mental health patients' age-specific patient issues, limit setting and behavior management, crisis prevention and intervention techniques• Have knowledge and comprehension of regulatory agency standards• Follow staff development procedures and requirements• Communicate orally, telephonically, and in writing• Have working knowledge of computer systems and various software• Maintain certification for CPR and CPI• Possess good interpersonal skills and the ability to be a team player• Demonstrate good documentation, organization, and time management skills• Be effective in decision-making and problem-solving
Requirements
• High School Diploma or equivalent• 1 year of experience working with a psychiatric patient population and previous secretarial experience preferred
