Open Position Title: UniServ Director (Active EA, Inactive ESPA)
Immediate Supervisor: CSUU Chair
Employment Group: Colorado Springs UniServ Unit
Location: Colorado Springs School District 11
Hours/Status: Full Time Exempt Based in Colorado Springs
Salary: Salary for this position is commensurate with skills and experience (range: $75,000 – $100,000) Competitive benefits package available through the collective bargaining agreement.

Summary of Position: In pursuit of CSEA's mission and vision, the qualified individual will work as part of a team to provide rights advocacy for members and bargaining, organizing, recruitment, political, and administrative support for the Unit and Local.
Minimum Qualifications: Completion of Bachelor's Degree; Dedication to the values, philosophy, and mission of the Association; Knowledge of current education reform and labor relation issues; Effective oral and written communication skills; Ability to work independently and be self-directed; Strong interpersonal and social skills to work with a wide range of individuals and personalities; Ability to work from the office, to travel, and to work a flexible, professional calendar as determined by the needs of the Association. Preferred Qualifications: Master's or Doctoral Degree Experience in Public Schools Ability to develop strategies and coordinate activities that are effective in a conservative community; Experience in collective bargaining; Ability to organize around issues, including motivation and mobilization of volunteers; Field Organizing Experience (Campaigns, member/community engagement) or successful completion of NEA Pre-UniServ Training Institute; Ability to adapt actions to needs under stressful/strenuous circumstances; UniServ Job Description: Work with Association leaders to strengthen the Association and increase membership of both CSEA and CSESPA Develop and Train local Association Representatives Plan, collaborate, and conduct site visits for the purpose of member recruitment, retention, and leader development and organizing Work with local leaders and community groups to build the power of the Association Support members in collective bargaining (traditional, consensus, and interest-based) Work directly with members of both CSEA and CSESPA to identify, address, and resolve workplace issues Represent members in dispute resolution, grievance process, and arbitration Provide assistance in development and delivery of programs and services to members Utilize multiple strategies and tools to communicate with members and convey Association messaging Support and assist the elected leaders and representatives of the Unit to carry out the full range of their responsibilities Develop and/or implement local affiliate political action plans Attend meetings of the locals, Boards of Directors, and state Association as appropriate Function in other professional, executive or administrative capacities as may be determined by the UniServ Council Participate in Association meetings (some are evenings or weekends), and attend occasional School Board meetings Coordinate actions with the state organization (CEA) as needed Other duties as assigned Application Procedure:
