JOB TITLE: Facility Maintenance Technician /Truss Mechanic
JOB LOCATION: St. George, UT
REPORTING TO: Truss Location Manager
DIVISION: Truss
FUNCTION: Under the direction of the shop supervisor, the shop mechanic is responsible for Preventative maintenance, repairs and installation of truss production equipment in Sunpro truss facilities
KEY ACTIVITIES: Visualize, fulfill, and implement the company vision and core values; Ensures that all truss equipment is in excellent working condition to avoid downtime and delays in production; Perform minor electrical repairs (including electronic controls), minor welding repairs, as well as equipment and plant maintenance repairs; Check and change all oils and perform proper lubrication in equipment; Maintain tools as required to perform job; Hold Medical card; Maintain insurable driving record; Ensure a safe and healthful work environment at all times. Offer training on best practices on equipment maintenance; Willing to travel to all truss locations as needed; Assist in other positions around the shop on an as needed basis. Including but not limited to table builder, sawyer, saw helper, moving and catching trusses, operating a fork lift to move trusses and lumber in the yard, delivering trusses and other items to the job site. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Attention and commitment to safety; Ability to work well with others in a team environment; Ability to follow instructions; Ability to work long hours; Ability to service all equipment; Ability to achieve performance objectives in a time-sensitive and quality centered environment; Effective written and verbal communication skills; Demonstrate initiative and reliability with minimal supervision; Practical mathematic and measuring skills; General mechanical background/aptitude; Minor welding abilities. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED). PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to move at least 50 pounds.
