Job title : Truss Field Rep
Pay: Starting at $22 to $26 an hour, depending on experience
Schedule : Monday-Friday 7am to 4:30pm
Location : Harrisburg, Oregon
The Truss Field Rep is responsible for using the company's FACE values, mission, and vision as guides to meet the needs of the customers and reach their facilities goals. This is accomplished through meeting with customers, discussing issues, and problem-solving.
This position directly reports to the Plant Manager. The Field Rep interacts daily with all employees and customers. They also interact regularly with corporate employees, vendor representatives, and industry associates.
Qualifications High school diploma or GED Knowledge of management principles, practices, and protocols Knowledge of Roof and Floor Truss design and construction Knowledge of home and commercial construction principles, practices, and protocols Knowledge of the effects of "market conditions" upon the wood products industry Must be able to operate a personal computer, smartphone, scanner, and any other equipment necessary for the job Must be able to type 30+ WPM Proficient in MiTek design software or similar Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Ability to speak, write, and read English required Class C driver's license required Willingness to commute Strong organizational skills Duties and Responsibilities Continually update product knowledge and field applications of trusses Establish and maintain professional relationships with customers and vendors Strive for continuous improvement, seeking out, listening, and responding to input from employees and customers Demonstrate great listening skills and follow-up as necessary Consistently seek and identify the details and processes that lead to positive change Use a construction master and or a scientific calculator Able to use construction tools such as saws, nail guns, field repair plate press, etc. Understand truss hangers and how to manually specify them using catalogs Able to read and understand plans for agricultural, residential, and commercial building projects Diagnose, design, and execute field repairs to truss packages when errors occur Able to drive a Pilot Car for wide loads Willing to deliver small parts or hardware to job sites Perform other related duties as assigned The Field Rep works primarily on the road visiting customers and job sites.
Physical Requirements Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time Ability to work indoors in a normal office environment for an entire day Must be able to grasp, talk, hear, and operate a computer and keyboard Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds and carry objects 50 feet Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions Must be able to drive a vehicle when necessary We know that without great people, we can't be a great company.
