We have an immediate need for a full-time Truck Scale Operator/Office Clerk to join our Logistics Department in Portland. The ideal candidate will have previous experience as a truck scale operator. If you do not have related experience, this opportunity is supported by a team that is willing to train you to perform in our unique environment.
What you can expect to be doing: Direct trucks on and off of the scales to maintain an even flow of truck traffic Enter weight information into computer program and print scale tickets Document proper company/truck owner on scale tickets and in computer for billing purposes Coordinate deliveries with logistics Ensure accurate and complete documentation of all inbound and outbound scale transactions Inspect paperwork and loads for inbound and outbound trucks Collect in-house driver's expenses and fuel receipts for processing Prepare Tare Reports Process railcars and prepare corresponding paperwork Complete daily reports, maintain logs, spreadsheets, and other reports, as assigned Verify that loaded trucks are loaded correctly (i.e. not exceeding weight limits) to ensure compliance with the State Weights and Measures regulations Maintain ongoing communication with department managers and loaders to ensure timely loading of trucks Stock office common area daily and monitor inventory Basic Office duties i.e., data entry, filing, assisting officer personnel when time permits Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor What we are looking for in this hire: Previous experience as a truck scale operator Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment Excellent customer service Great attention to details Highly organized Have a strong work ethic - dependable and demonstrate good attendance Works well as part of a team Working knowledge of computers (MS Office and Excel) Needs to be able to read, write, and understand English Lastly, have a positive attitude and be willing to assist others when needed What Ultra-Poly offers: Starting rate of up to $21.00 per hour (based on experience) Annual performance reviews Paid vacation and holidays Medical, dental, and vision insurance 100% company-paid disability, life, and AD&D insurance Quarterly attendance bonuses Safety bonuses and more...
