JOB SUMMARY The Truck Driver is responsible for over-the-road transport of Litehouse products to assigned destinations and pickup and delivery of other products.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Transporting finished goods and raw materials over land to and from manufacturing plants or retail and distribution centers Inspecting vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions. Assist workers in loading and unloading truck Document and log work/rest periods according to DOT regulations Report defects, accidents, or violations EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school, trucking school diploma preferred Certifications: Possess and maintain Class "A" CDL and current DOT medical certification Six months to one-year related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules Operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals Ability to write routine reports and correspondence Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and to draw and interpret bar graphs Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form Ability to deal with problems involving several concretes variables in standardized situations Must have strong verbal and written communications skills with ability to express ideas effectively and efficiently Must have excellent interpersonal and organizational skills Ability to establish & maintain effective working relationships with all contacts inside and outside of the company WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS Sitting 80% Walking 10% Standing 10% Near Acuity Speaking - Ordinary Speech Hearing - Ordinary Conversation Manual Dexterity - Computer Keyboard Fingering Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds Occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus Frequently exposed to vibration.
