Job Overview: As a Truck Driver for our equipment rental company, you will be responsible for safely transporting our range of equipment to customers, job sites, and other company locations. This role requires a high level of responsibility, reliability, and safety awareness, as you will be a key player in ensuring that equipment is delivered on time and in good condition. The ideal candidate will have a clean driving record, experience in driving large vehicles, and excellent customer service skills.
Responsibilities: Safely transport equipment to and from specified locations in a timely manner. Assist with loading and unloading equipment at the warehouse and customer sites. Review orders before and after delivery to ensure that orders are complete and the customer is satisfied. Maintain communication with the dispatch team to receive delivery instructions or notice of changes. Conduct daily inspections of the truck and report any problems or maintenance needs. Follow all state and national large truck driving safety regulations and standards. Keep an accurate log of all driving activities to comply with federal regulations governing the rest and work periods for operators. Handle basic maintenance of the truck including cleaning, and inspecting tires, lights, and brakes. Provide outstanding customer service during delivery, answering customer questions and handling complaints professionally. Navigate routes using both standard maps and GPS technology. Qualifications: Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) required. Proven work experience as a truck driver or similar role. Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly. Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations. No recent moving or driving violations. Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions, etc.). Ability to handle physical workload. High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or safety management training is a plus. Skills: Strong time management and punctuality. Good driving record with no traffic violations. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Must be able to maintain concentration over long periods. Customer service orientation with good communication skills.
