Traveling Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Traveling Heavy Equipment Mechanic S.J. Louis Construction, a national underground utility contractor, has an immediate need for a full-time traveling heavy equipment mechanic.
As a traveling heavy equipment mechanic, you'll play a pivotal role in keeping our equipment maintained and in safe operating condition.
What you'll do: Working in a variety of outdoor environments and weather conditions, to support job site production by keeping our equipment moving
Troubleshooting and repairing all types of equipment - operating equipment to diagnose problems, inspecting equipment for defects
Repairing and maintaining a variety of heavy equipment including excavators, loaders, dozer, etc. Caterpillar and Komatsu
Completing preventive maintenance (PM) as required
Performing minimal welding
Communicating with other shop staff to understand current and predicted needs
Perform other duties as assigned
Preferred Experience: 5 years of experience
A knowledge of construction equipment maintenance, including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, diesel, gasoline and record keeping
Experience in heavy equipment repairs and diagnostics
Experience working with hydraulics and electrical systems
Ability to follow procedures and managerial direction
Strong attention to detail
Class A or B CDL license is required Clean Driving Record
Ability to travel on a regular rotation schedule
