Position Overview: The Transportation Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing the daily operations of the transportation division. You will lead a team of Supervisors and Drivers to oversee distribution of finished goods. The ideal candidate will ensure that all transportation activities are managed according to customer service standards, regulatory requirements, and established delivery standards, while maintaining and developing carrier relationships. This position requires excellent customer service, negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities: Plan, organize, and coordinate the transportation activities of the company. Negotiate and manage contracts with carriers. Develop and maintain relationships with carriers. Analyze transportation costs, freight rates, and delivery times to determine the most economical and effective methods of transporting goods. Manage the transportation budget. Review invoices and freight bills for accuracy. Ensure compliance with DOT regulations. Maintain and develop transportation process improvement initiatives. Manage timekeeping records for all transportation activities. Communicate transportation issues and activities with internal and external customers. Monitor and maintain carrier performance. Monitor and manage fuel consumption. Monitor and maintain productivity of transportation operations. Qualifications: Minimum of 5 years of experience in managing transportation activities in a warehouse, distribution center, or logistics environment. Experience working with food or beverage industry is a HUGE plus. Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. ERP system experience (SAP preferred) Strong working knowledge of contract carriers. Experience negotiating contracts.
