Job Description Job description Transportation Engineer- Sheladia Associates Inc. Sheladia Associates, Inc. (Sheladia), a minority-owned business, is seeking a Transportation Engineer for the Domestic Division in our headquarters office in Rockville, Maryland. As Transportation Engineer, you will actively participate in and work with drafting and road projects.
Job Description This is a senior-level engineer position responsible for developing specs and plans for major projects and doing cost estimates for major roads and highways, amongst other related duties as required.
Job Duties include but are not limited to: Prepare the following roadway/highway design work local standards: horizontal and vertical alignment, roadway sections, intersection layout, sight distance determination, interchange layout, right of way, and construction plans Prepare the following elements of various sizes of contract plans, specifications, and estimates: roadway sections, alignment/right of way plans, site preparation plans, roadway profiles, and maintenance of traffic plans Prepare cost estimates using MS Excel and the Estimator software and utilizing the RS Means database and other client-required software Draft priced technical proposals per the Request for Proposal (RFP) or Proposed Change Orders (PCO) as they arise Manage junior and mid-level engineers and provide guidance and technical assistance as necessary. Familiarity with traffic analysis using synchro modeling Other duties as needed. Qualifications Minimum Requirements: Professional Engineering (PE) License in the State of Maryland (MD). Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) license. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering 10+ years of relevant work experience Working knowledge and proficiency in Civil 3D Software Working knowledge and proficiency in OpenRoad / InRoad / Microstation Software Strong capability with Specifications writing and drafting for Montgomery and Prince George's County, MD, and District of Columbia, DOTs Proficiency in MS Office Suites Proficiency in Adobe Software Proficiency in Bluebeam Revu Software Strong project management skills and leadership capability Interpersonal skills and ability to communicate well with clients and provide a quality service Capability of tracking project budget and internal workload management Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship Additional Skills (but not Required): Proficiency in languages other than English Additional Information Benefits: 401(k)401(k) matching Dental insurance Employee assistance program Health insurance Life insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Paid Holidays How to Apply: Please apply here or alternatively, submit a formatted CV/resume to recruiting[@]sheladia.com.
