The Transaction Specialist (Business Assistant II) functions as one member of a team of highly motivated, collaborative and dedicated professionals whose primary responsibility is to serve as a resource and advocate for the departments of USU's Divisions of Student Affairs and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. They will provide support to Business Services staff by performing bookkeeping and accounting tasks including providing accounting clerical support for accounts payable, accounts receivable, travel, students' accounts and/or general accounting sections.
Process level 200 receipts Process level 10 receipts when needed Invoice for accounts receivable Manage after awarding for division scholarships Assist with division asset tracking Process salary re-allocations Complete termination EPAFs Complete I-9 process with employees Report taxable gifts Process travel encumbrance report Book travel arrangements with travelers Receive and record monies from third party payers Prepare journal entries Run and distribute (to dept and finance specialists) weekly receipt reports for all departments Perform general office duties, including answering emails, greeting customers, data entry, filing, and other general duties as assigned Create process maps and workflows for managed processes Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications: Four years of relevant experience; or an associate degree plus two years of experience; or a bachelor's degree. Knowledge of Accounts Payable procedures. Basic computer skills, including Windows and Excel. Ability to discreetly handle confidential information. Skilled with ten-key and keyboarding.
