Tractor Trailor Technician/Mechanic

TRACTOR TRAILER TECHNICIAN St Louis Composting, producer of STA-Certified Compost, Mulch Products and Soil Blends, is seeking a safety conscious Tractor Trailer Technician to join our growing team at our site in Belleville, IL. The Tractor Trailer Technician will collaborate with other repair team members to ensure a vehicle is safely and efficiently operating to the driver's needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES : Performs maintenance on tractor trailers and completes DOT inspections. Follows preventative maintenance procedures as established by company standards. Orders parts, communicates status and annotates corrective actions. Inspect, repair and replace worn or defective air brake, suspension and lighting systems. Replace, repair or fabricate hydraulic lines and fittings for live floor trailers. Comfortable working in a sometimes fast paced environment while maintaining flexibility. Ensures a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures. using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task. Other duties as assigned by supervisor. Must present a neat and professional appearance. SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: Possesses a valid US driver's license and has their own tools (Specialty tools provided). Perform DOT inspections and have at least 1 years of hands-on experience with tractor trailers. 2 years of experience with stick welding, wire welding and fabrication. Air brakes and suspension experience. Able to lift 50lbs and stand for long periods of time. Experience with live floor trailers and hydraulics is a plus.
