Thrift Store Manager Location Albert Lea, MN : Qualifications The position requires a High School Diploma with two (2) or more years experience in retail. Must be self motivated, computer literate, possess an aptitude in both written and oral communication, have excellent administrative skills, be trustworthy, especially in confidential matters. Must work independently as well as a team player, be well organized, multi task oriented. The candidate must be able to pass a background check and MVR driver's qualification. It must be understood by the incumbent that the provisions of Safe From Harm will apply upon commencement of employment and also understood that the required Safe From Harm training be satisfactorily completed within the first thirty (30) days of employment.
Summary of Position Oversee the day-to-day operation of the Thrift Store. Operate an electronic cash register and office equipment, including personal computers, copiers, and fax machines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
. The incumbent has the authority to take tangible actions against any direct report to include: (hire, discharge - (involuntary termination), demote, promote, transfer and discipline). However, all such tangible actions, with the exception of discipline that does not result in involuntary termination, are subject to final review and approval by the Divisional Finance Board, DFB.
. Ensure proper training of all employees and volunteers and schedule clerks to ensure coverage of all scheduled hours.
. Supervise Thrift Store employees in performance of their duties to ensure compliance with directives and guidelines.
. Hold regularly scheduled meetings to ensure timely and effective communication, for team building and to keep personnel informed of new policies and directives.
. Resolve conflicts and disagreements between employees and/or volunteers.
. Deal with and provide good customer relations, as is expected of all staff.
. Have a high level of contact with customers and staff.
. Prepare bank slip for cash deposits daily and safeguard cash at all times.
. Develop and maintain a system for sorting, pricing to maximize sales.
. Watch for and prevent security risks and theft.
. Maintain records related to sales.
. Tickets, arranges and displays merchandise to promote sales.
. Order merchandise and maintain accurate inventory of goods on hand.
. Report safety hazards. Responsible for the protection of personnel, property and building.
. Respond to customer complaints.
. Interview and recommend hiring employees for thrift store operations.

. Perform all other duties as assigned.
