This is a contract to hire opportunity and requires candidates to be willing to work night shift and be eligible for a U.S. Department of Defense TS/SCI security clearance.
: Our customer's Space Systems business unit in Linthicum, MD is seeking a Test Engineer to support on-site, dedicated 2nd and 3rd shift and weekend test bench operations for the Assembly, Integration and Test (AI&T) of a production Space Payload program.
Duties and Responsibilities: Executing test scripts for the verification of Software, Hardware, and System requirements for applications in Space.
Understanding of RF (Radio Frequency) systems, especially RADAR, SIGINT, or COMMS
Programming and scripting skills
Required Qualifications: BS in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math); or HS diploma with at least four (4) years of relevant military experience with sensor system, ideally RADAR, integration and test or operation and maintenance, or military control room console operator; or defense industry work experience with sensor system, ideally RADAR, integration and test or operation and maintenance
Willingness to work dedicated 2nd or 3rd shift and weekends for several months continuously (2nd shift is typically 1 PM – 10 PM; 3rd shift is typically 9 PM – 6 AM)
No clearance needed to start for escorted work
U.S. Citizenship
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with RADAR and/or ESA (Electronically Scanned Array) integration and test
Experience with Space Payload or Space Vehicle (Satellite) integration and test in a clean room environment
Programming in C or MATLAB for understanding and editing/improving existing code
Scripting in Python or Tcl for understanding and editing/improving existing scripts
Experience with Confluence, Jira, and Bitbucket
TS/SCI clearance for unescorted work
Working knowledge of RF test equipment (Signal Generators, Spectrum Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, Power Meters, etc.)
