Internal Job DescriptionClosing Date:April 5, 2024Teck Alaska Incorporated, Red Dog Operations, one of the world's largest producers of zinc concentrate, is recruiting for a Temporary Port Seasonal Operator x6.The Seasonal Port Operator (x6) is responsible for dumping concentrate trucks, clean around conveyor systems. Operate front-end loaders 966, 988, D8 dozer, VAC truck and other labor type jobs as required.Reporting to the Port Operations Supervisor2024 Shipping Season; Rotation Schedule will be 2 weeks on-site with 2 weeks off-siteResponsibilities:• Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures• Operate 988 loaders and dozers• Efficiently loads concentrate and maintains tones loaded an hour• Assist with pile management of concentrate storage buildings• Assist in the port yard• Unloading trucks• Other duties as assignedQualifications:• At least 18 years old with a High School Diploma or equivalent• Experience in heavy equipment operating and basic knowledge of equipment• Team player and able to communicate well with others• Highly motivated and have ability to perform tasks with limited direction• Ability to adhere to high safety standards• Able to work day, afternoon, or night shifts as required• Able to work outdoors with a potential exposure to extreme climatic conditions• Able to perform labor intensive work when required; physically capable of performing the essential functions of the trade• Current driver's license is preferredExternal Job DescriptionAbout TeckSuccessful candidates must be willing to satisfy the pre-employment requirements of a physical assessment, drug screen and a background check.
