Job summary
Two full-time Temporary Biological Sciences Research Technician 2 positionsConducting broad-scale monitoring for fisher, marten, and other carnivore speciesAnalyzing how tree mortality and extreme fires are influencing fisher occupancy, diet, and habitat
Job seniority: associate level
Responsibilities
• Pre-scouting monitoring locations for safety concerns, access routes, and camping sites• Preparing crew schedules and work assignments• Providing training and guidance to crew members• Tracking inventory of supplies, equipment, and vehicles• Communicating problems or concerns to research assistants and program leaders• Assisting with field work and sampling targets• Overseeing data quality and organization• Summarizing data for analysis and reports• Coordinating with USFS staff for carnivore surveys• Organizing and executing district or forest level surveys
Requirements
• Two years of college-level courses in biological science• One year of experience at the Biological Research Technician 1 level• Valid driver's license and successful motor vehicle history check
