The Telecom Administrator I provide telecom support activities surrounding the day-to-day management of telecom equipment and systems. This position is responsible for tier 1 escalations and troubleshooting, installing and directing the installation of standardized communication systems and services for the organization in Arizona, Maryland and any future locations. In addition, supports existing telecom technologies and provides input on solutions proposed by the Manager, Security and Operations and Sr. Telecom Administrator/Engineer.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Financial – Sustains growth through financial stewardship & fiscal responsibility.
Participates in the evaluation, recommendation and selection of telecom related hardware and software solutions. Customer & Community – Collaborates with customers to understand and deliver customer's needs & expectations.
Supervises vendors in the installation of telecom cabling for new and/or existing locations, providing excellent customer service. Operational Excellence – Implements strategies to maximize resources and infrastructure.
Installs and configures telecom equipment per established standards. Maintains and updates telecom systems. Monitors telecom systems for potential problems and provides solutions. Assists in ensuring compliance with telecom system availability and performance standards. Responsible for telecom equipment installation, troubleshooting and hardware testing as well as ongoing maintenance of production and staging/QA environments. Coordinate with low voltage cable install vendors for quotes and monitoring of work being completed to specifications. Assists in developing documentation for telecom systems and processes. Available for on call and after hours support as needed. Adheres to laws and regulations in the licensing, operating and technical performance of telecom systems. Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills):
Degree in Computer/Information Science, technical college or equivalent work experience desired. Cisco CCNA Voice or other relevant network/telecom certifications preferred. 3+ years' progressive experience as a Telecom Administrator. Demonstrated understanding of telecom security. Familiarity with Cisco IOS, Cisco routers, CUBE, SIP Trunks and LAN/WAN communications. Familiarity with Cisco VoIP systems including but not limited to Cisco Communications Manager (CUCM), Cisco Unity Connection (CUC) and Cisco Unified Contact Center Express (CUCX). Working knowledge of networking technologies, protocols and security such as basic IP addressing, SIP, QOS, DNS, DHCP, VPN client configuration and VOIP phones. Working knowledge of telepresence endpoints, softphones, dial peers, partitions, call search spaces, route patterns and translation patterns. Experience implementing and maintaining telecom technologies in a mixed vendor environment, including but not limited to video conferencing technologies and systems. Experience with Solarwinds, NetFlow, and other telephony systems monitoring/analyzer tools like packet captures. Strong ability to focus on telecom troubleshooting and resolution. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to collaborate and work effectively in partnership with others. Strong customer service skills. Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment. High attention to detail and accuracy. Valid drivers' license and clean MVR. Ability to pass a background check and drug screen, where applicable for position. Ability to obtain Fingerprint clearance card.
