Are you interested in a new challenge in an established, innovative company?  As a member of the Global Technology & Data Legal practice group of Morgan Stanley, you are part of a dynamic and collegial team of technology and data in-house lawyers that develop innovative and novel approaches to handling legal challenges of the innovation age in a highly regulated environment.    You are a proactive and collaborative self-starter that assesses legal risks as you work directly with the business, supporting the firm on a wide variety of technology and digital initiatives.  You thrive in a fast-paced environment and build positive client relationships with diplomacy and provide insightful and valuable counsel.  You are comfortable working hand-in-hand with global colleagues and clients handling complex, cross-border matters.  You are a hard-working creative problem-solver who is open to new ideas.  You are Morgan Stanley.Primary ResponsibilitiesReview, draft, negotiate and close a broad range of technology agreements, including on premise software licensing, SaaS and other cloud transactions, technology outsourcing, telecommunication services, hardware purchases, professional services, maintenance, and support arrangements.Providing strategic and pragmatic legal advice and support on the legal and regulatory requirements of technology implementation and usage.Collaborate closely with the rest of the Technology & Data legal team to design, modify and implement company policies and processes to ensure legal compliance with internal policies, as well as applicable laws and regulations, including privacy and data protection law, cloud regulations and others.Basic Qualifications- Admitted to the relevant bar (or equivalent in-house license)- 5-7 years of relevant legal experience in technologytransactions; intellectual property or cyber & privacy law.and data lawPreferred Qualifications- Transactional/contract negotiation, privacy & cyber and intellectual property experience- Data licensing experience- In-house legal experience- Financial services or similar regulated industry experience- Ability to show sound judgement even in ambiguous situations- Ability to work independently while being able to contribute to cross-functional teams- Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once, consistentfollow-through- Strong written and oral communication skills- Robust analytical and computer skills- Collaborative, pragmatic and commercial-minded- Proven track record of meeting deadlines, learning quickly, taking the initiative,working proactively, being resourceful and shouldering additional responsibility- A good sense of humorMorgan Stanley's goal is to build and maintain a workforce that is diverse in experience and background but uniform in reflecting our standards of integrity and excellence.
