Job Description: Under new ownership since 2023, Grapeland Supply is looking for our next great hire to fill a dynamic and multi-faceted position, which touches on all aspects of operating our fermentation supply business. This is a perfect job for someone with experience in wine production, at a vendor/service provider, or some other part of the wine industry who wants to take their career to the next level in a growing organization.
The person in this role will work closely with the Team Leader and other Team Members on day-to-day store operations, nurturing/growing customer relationships, and driving sales - as well as supporting communication with vendors and other administrative work as needed. The right candidate will have a high degree of operational competence, lots of flexibility and willingness to learn, and a deep ambition to pursue growth and improvement in everything they do. There is significant room for career and personal growth in this position, and further within the company as we expand.
Overall Responsibilities:
- Drive consultative sales, problem solving, and relationship building with customers
- Engage in proactive customer outreach and support annual harvest sales drive
- Support growth efforts like adding new product lines, geographic expansion, and customer/industry verticals
- Attend industry events and support/grow in-house event program
- Maintain equipment and support sales through equipment rental program
Day-to-Day Duties/Tasks:
- Help customers locate needed products
- Check out customers using our POS system
- Assist with loading orders into customer vehicles
- Break down, repackage, and prepare inventory for sale and stock shelves
- Check in orders and support the Team Leader with inventory, ordering, etc.
- Phone and email correspondence as needed
- Fulfill shipping orders and deliver local orders when needed
- Light cleaning and organizing
- Build/assemble custom order products (i.e. hoses)
Requirements
- A growth mindset and willingness to take on a wide variety of tasks/roles
- A strong focus on customer success and supporting our local fermentation community
- Demonstrated ability in sales and daily operations in a small to medium-sized business
- A pleasant and approachable demeanor when working with customers and coworkers
- Basic competence with computers, POS systems, and other business software
- Ability to lift/push/pull 50+ pounds
- Winery production and/or brewing experience strongly preferred
- Bachelors and/or Associate's degree preferred
Compensation
- $20-$24/hour, DOE (regular 40 hour workweek, opportunity for/expected seasonal overtime as needed)
- 80% health insurance company cost contribution
- 2 weeks paid vacation, plus more with tenure
- Opportunity for significant performance-based bonus
