Team Lead GENERAL SUMMARY:
Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of Environmental Services which may include general cleaning and floor maintenance functions. Coordinates staff activities including completing shift assignments and interacts regularly with nursing units and ancillary departments. Assists the Director with responsibility for maintaining and working within department budget, following policies and procedures, providing training programs to EVS staff. Assistant Supervisor assists with quality improvement programs/projects. This position reports to the Director of Environmental Services (EVS).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
1. Supervising Environmental Services employees. Interviewing, selecting, and training new employees. Monitoring current employees and providing ongoing training, coaching and performance management.
2. Participating in the development and implementation of department wide projects and programs. Responding to customer concerns/compliments.
3. Controlling operating expenses. Adjusting staffing levels based on fluctuating workloads.
4. Developing and maintaining employee performance standards to achieve desired quality results through daily rounding in areas of responsibility and performing required audits. Evaluating employee performance.
5. Utilize the Powerlink Healthcare Support Services Core Values and effective communication skills to develop staff.
6. Maintaining and/or improving employee engagement through rounding, recognition, team building and meeting.
7. Participation in department and facility committees.
8. Developing programs/practices, which ensure correct/safe care and usage of chemical products and equipment.
9. Evaluation of new and existing products and equipment.

5. Supports and participates in a collaborative team-oriented environment - cooperates and works together with all co-workers, plans and completes job duties, uses appropriate communications in sensitive and emotional situations and follows up as appropriate regarding reported complaints, problems and concerns.
6. Supports, cooperates with and demonstrates safe work practices and attitudes, follows safety rules - including universal precautions - reports and prevents/corrects unsafe conditions and behaviors, and participates in organizational and departmental safety programs.
7. Completes all required compliance standards that may be department specific and/or identified by the organization.
STANDARD QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. A. Education / Training: Associate degree or 3 years previous management experience preferred.
B. Work Experience: 3 years of management experience.
C. Certification, Licensure, Registration: None required.
D. Other Qualifications: Excellent organization, written and oral communication and
Human relation skills. Computer knowledge of email usage and basic software.
