Teacher Special Education

Hopedale Public School is seeking an elementary level Special Education Teacher for the ******** school year. Our curriculum reflects our small size and mission-driven culture with engaging courses, hands-on learning and opportunities to grow both inside and outside the classroom.This is a substantially separate program called Rising Stars that provides explicit instruction across all content areas including modifications with an emphasis on functional language and independence. The teacher is responsible for: *Modifying and creating curriculum to meet the individual needs of each student*Writing and ensuring all aspects of IEP implementation*Writing progress reports and data summaries*Conducting and writing three year evaluations*Attending all IEP meetings for students under liaisonship*Collecting data and ensuring implementation of behavioral interventions*Conducting state assessment including MCAS alternative portfolios*Consulting with related service providers, general education teachers, and BCBA*Daily supervision of support staff and management of schedules and responsibilities*Facilitating and supporting students in least restrictive environment*Collaboration with district BCBA to align instructional delivery with ABA methodology for those students diagnosed with AutismThe teacher should possess: *An understanding of skill development and learning profiles *Strong communication skills*Strong organizational and time management skills*Experience in Applied Behavior Analysis preferred*Collaborative mindset*Knowledge of special education and core curriculumThe successful applicant will possess appropriate DESE licensure.Salary and benefits will be in accordance with the Hopedale Education Association-Unit A collective bargaining agreement.If interested, please request the Hopedale Public Schools Employment Application by contacting: Julie Tammaro, Administrative Assistant/Superintendents Office25 Adin Street, Hopedale, MA
