Position Overview:
As a Virtual Teacher of Visually Impaired (TVI), you will be responsible for providing comprehensive educational services to students with visual impairments enrolled in virtual learning programs across Colorado. Collaborating with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams, you'll develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet each student's unique needs.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
Valid teaching license/certification in Special Education or Visual Impairment.
Certification as a Teacher of Visually Impaired (CTVI) or willingness to obtain certification within specified timeframe.
Experience working with students with visual impairments, preferably in a virtual or remote setting.
Knowledge of best practices in special education, including Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and differentiated instruction.
Proficiency in utilizing assistive technology and adaptive resources to support students with visual impairments.
Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
Commitment to promoting inclusive education and advocating for students with disabilities.
