Responsibilities
• Follow rules, policies, and procedures• Plan a program of study that meets individual needs• Create a conducive learning environment• Guide the learning process and establish clear objectives• Use appropriate instructional methods and materials• Assess student accomplishments and provide progress reports• Counsel with colleagues, students, and parents• Implement policies and rules, maintain classroom order• Supervise teacher assistants and evaluate their performance• Maintain and improve professional competence• Participate in the development of the school vision• Attend staff meetings, serve on committees, and perform non-instructional duties• Perform related duties as required by the Principal
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in education with valid teaching certificate in North Carolina• Demonstrate functional knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office Professional software programs• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines• Strong content knowledge• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships• Ability to maintain order and discipline in the classroom• Ability to monitor student safety and well-being• Comply with confidentiality requirements• Physical ability to perform job duties• Availability for prolonged and irregular hours of duty and weekend work
