Provides child care services which meet the developmental needs of each child. Consistently communicates with each child's parents to ensure that quality care is being given and the child/family needs are being met. Works effectively with other team members. Curriculum Coordination Plans and implements age/developmentally appropriate programs for assigned group of children. Interacts appropriately and positively with children, participating in and encouraging children's play. Maintains a clean, orderly, child oriented, safe environment. Assessment Evaluates, monitors, and maintains records on children's participation and development. Quality of Care Attends to personal and physical needs of children. Demonstrates initiative to improve quality and customer service by striving to exceed customer expectations. Basic UPH Performance Criteria Demonstrates the UnityPoint Health Values and Standards of Behaviors as well as adheres to policies and procedures and safety guidelines. Demonstrates ability to meet business needs of department with regular, reliable attendance. Employee maintains current licenses and/or certifications required for the position. Practices and reflects knowledge of HIPAA, TJC, DNV, OSHA and other federal/state regulatory agencies guiding healthcare. Completes all annual education and competency requirements within the calendar year. Is knowledgeable of hospital and department compliance requirements for federally funded healthcare programs (e.g. Medicare and Medicaid) regarding fraud, waste and abuse. Brings any questions or concerns regarding compliance to the immediate attention of hospital administrative staff. Takes appropriate action on concerns reported by department staff related to compliance. Education: High School graduate or equivalent.
Two-year degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education or other Education related field or CDA.
Experience: Minimum of two years experience in a licensed childcare setting.
License(s)/Certification(s): Valid driver's license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.
Must be willing to complete all DHS required trainings within 90 days of employment.
Child Development Associate certification preferred.
