Taproom General Manager Location Seattle, WA (Industrial District area) : Ghostfish Brewing Company is an award-winning brewery located in the historic SODO district of Seattle, WA. Since opening in 2015, we chose to take the path less traveled and designed our beer to be distinctively different. We brew exclusively with alternative grains such as millet, brown rice, and buckwheat. Today, Ghostfish Brewing is the largest producer of dedicated gluten free beer in the United States. We distribute to numerous states and export to a few different countries while operating a taproom with a full-service kitchen featuring a dedicated gluten free menu. The Taproom General Manager is responsible for all aspects of the retail operations at our Seattle, WA location. The Taproom General Manager reports to the Operations Manager and is an integral part of the company's senior management team. The Taproom General Manager position requires a tremendous amount of leadership, fiscal understanding/discipline, and a keen sense for industry trends.

The Taproom General Manager's duties involve a variety of activities including, but not limited to planning, organizing, training and leadership necessary to achieve stated objectives in sales, marketing, profitability, food quality, employee retention, guest service and satisfaction, cleanliness, sanitation, consistency, and overall quality of our brand.
This role must be dedicated to achieving operational excellence with a genuine interest in helping our company succeed.
Essential Job Functions include, but not limited to: Stop the job for safety. Communicate and manage potential hazards. Accountability for managing and leading all retail aspects of the Ghostfish taproom, restaurant, brewery, and online store. Assist ownership in developing, maintaining, and evolving the strategic direction of the taproom restaurant and brewery store; effect positive change improvements. Full responsibility of the financial performance of retail operations by setting sales & revenue goals, managing costs, and understanding cost drivers. Communicate results, explain variances, and build forecasts and budgets. Implement special events and in-house revenue drivers. Manage inventory levels, being sure to transition to new items or reorder as needed. Forecast supplies, merchandise, and other consumables necessary for the operation of the taproom restaurant and brewery store and ensure costs are being controlled. Create and/or analyze reports on weekly, monthly, and annual revenues and expenses. Work with the Operations Manager, BOH Kitchen Manager to control costs and ensure profitability. Develop and/or maintain all front of the house processes, policies, and standard operating procedures. Oversee and administrate all human resource objectives by proper recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining staff; communicating job expectations, planning, maintaining, appraising, reviewing job contributions, enforcing policies and procedures; handling complaints. Assist ownership in developing systems to train, develop, and improve each employee and the team as a whole. Instill a focus of excellence through the whole team and committing to provide the absolute best customer service possible. Maintain safe, secure, and healthy facility environment by establishing, following, and enforcing sanitation standards and procedures, complying with health and legal regulations, and maintaining security systems. Drive customer satisfaction by monitoring, evaluating, and auditing food, beverage, and service offerings. Initiate improvements and build relationships with preferred customers. Ensure that all guests feel welcome and are given responsive, friendly, and courteous service at all times. Comply with and enforce all federal, state, county, and municipal regulations that pertain to restaurants, health, and safety, and personnel. Provide quality control systems and ensure best practices are implemented and are being followed. Ensure all equipment and property is kept clean and in good working condition through inspection and preventative maintenance practice. Set an example with a professional attitude and demeanor with a hands-on approach and style; uphold company values. Keep the taproom and kitchen staff accountable, energized, and productive. Provide advice and suggestions to the owners as needed. Communicate routinely and effectively with team via 1:1 interaction Qualifications: Education & Experience
Bachelor's Degree, preferably with emphasis in business or hospitality management A minimum of 5 years of restaurant experience A minimum of 2 years of management experience In addition to these minimum requirements, we expect the successful candidate will demonstrate the following: Strong verbal and written communication skills and capable of communicating effectively and timely with customers, co-workers, employees, and ownership Strong customer service, leadership, and management skills Demonstrated understanding of financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow), budgeting, sales goals, and forecasting Basic math skills and ability to use a POS system and proficient in Microsoft Office suite Be available to work evenings and weekends necessary to effectively manage and operate the taproom restaurant Genuine enthusiasm for food and craft beer Required valid WA state alcohol servers permit (MAST) and WA state food handlers permit Physical Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactory. This is a full-time position with a salary range of $65,000 to $85,000 (annually) and benefits package to include employee paid medical, dental, and vision, Seattle Paid Sick & Safe Time (PSST), paid time off (PTO), some paid holidays, employee discounts, quarterly beer rations, and the distinct opportunity to contribute to a successful future.
