EB Groton Shipyard Overview This position requires individuals with the ability to perform assembly, troubleshooting, repair, and testing of Electrical and Electronic assemblies in a production environment. In addition, chassis wiring and cable fabrication skills are desired. The Electronics Development Lab (EDL), located in the COATS facility, building 32 and VIRGINIA Payload Module (VPM) production in building 30; supports engineering development and prototype projects, limited / emergent production of shipboard equipment, Lead Yard Services contracts and life-cycle fleet logistics orders. Electronic technicians maintain technical skills meeting the highest quality standards for both workmanship and electronic soldering.
T/A personnel participate in pre-job briefs for tag-out/rip-out requests for ship-board installations, upgrades, modifications, repairs and tests.
In addition to electronic shop fabrication, EDL technicians may support design qualification testing, production component testing, troubleshooting and shipboard assignments for hardware installation, and assist engineering and design in the adoption of design corrections/improvements.T/A personnel are assigned to tasks involving teamwork with both engineering and shipyard trade personnel.
Qualifications Required: 0-1 year of related experience Technical High School degree Basic understanding of electronic component schematic diagrams Basic understanding in ESD precautions Perform panel testing with general test equipment Basic understanding in soldering Ability to troubleshoot and repair cable harnesses, connectors or mechanical assemblies Preferred: High Quality Soldering requirements J-STD-001 and IPC-A- 610 certification PI********
