With our combined resources CommonSpirit is committed to building healthy communities, advocating for those who are poor and vulnerable, and innovating how and where healing can happen - both inside our hospitals and out in the community.   The System Vice President (VP), Market Mergers, Acquisitions, and Partnerships will serve as a thought leader and strategic advisor to regional and market leaders, identifying opportunities and leading the execution of market-level transactions across various healthcare sectors. This role will lead the identification, evaluation, and execution of market-focused mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures to support the health system's growth and portfolio transformation strategy. This leader will lead and conduct disciplined due diligence, financial analysis, and negotiations processes for transactions, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and financial targets. This leader will ensure appropriate stakeholder engagement at all phases of a potential transaction process. This critical role requires a seasoned leader with expertise in healthcare mergers, acquisitions, and partnerships, along with strong analytical skills, negotiation abilities, and a commitment to our organization's values and faith-based mission. This role will collaborate closely with regional leadership to drive growth, expand market presence, and enhance the delivery of compassionate, high-quality care to communities across the nation. The System VP, Market Mergers, Acquisitions, and Partnerships must possess a high-touch service orientation toward matrixed cross-functional leaders and internal customers as well as an attention to detail and ability to drive initiatives to measurable results on-time, within budget, and meeting desired objectives.
? Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic direction and thought leadership for market-focused transactions in alignment with the organization's mission, strategic priorities and desired brand positioning. Provide strategic advice and guidance to executive leadership on transaction management and execution, including the due diligence and integration planning processes.
? Opportunity Identification: Proactively identify and evaluate potential merger, acquisition, and partnership opportunities within designated markets. Conduct market analysis, competitive assessments, and feasibility studies to assess strategic fit, financial viability, and alignment with organizational goals. Identify opportunities for strategic partnerships, acquisitions, and collaborations to drive market expansion and enhance service offerings and incorporate into the market strategic and growth plans.
? Due Diligence and Transaction Management: Lead the due diligence process for potential market-level transactions, coordinating with cross-functional teams to assess financial, operational, and regulatory aspects of target organizations. In collaboration with Legal, Develop transaction structures, negotiate terms, and manage the execution of agreements to ensure successful completion of transactions.
? Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including regional and market leadership, healthcare providers, community organizations, and other potential partners. Serve as a trusted advisor and strategic partner, providing insights and recommendations to support decision-making and achieve mutual objectives.
? Financial Analysis and Modeling: Collaboration with Finance to conduct financial analysis, valuation modeling, and scenario planning to evaluate the financial impact of proposed transactions. Assess risks and opportunities, develop business cases, and provide recommendations to optimize deal structure and maximize value creation.
? Integration Planning and Execution: Collaborate with regional and corporate leadership to develop integration plans for acquired entities and partnership agreements. Ensure seamless transitions, alignment with organizational culture, and realization of synergies to drive operational efficiency and growth.
? Partnership Development: In collaboration with market and regional leaders, cultivate and maintain relationships with potential partners, including healthcare systems, physician groups, payers, home care, senior living, international organizations, and other stakeholders. Identify opportunities for strategic collaborations, joint ventures, and partnerships to enhance service offerings, expand market presence, and improve patient outcomes.
? Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including clinical leadership, strategy, sales, operations, and human resources, to align strategy efforts with organizational objectives and strategic positioning. Engage with key stakeholders to advance the health system's mission. Operate internally and externally with a high-touch, customer service and data driven orientation.
? Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track the progress and impact of market-level transactions. Monitor financial performance, market share, and other relevant metrics to assess the effectiveness of strategies and drive continuous improvement. Provide regular reports and analysis to executive leadership, identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation and to inform decision-making and strategy development.
? Integration and Change Management: In collaboration with others, establish and oversee the integration of acquired entities. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless transitions and alignment with organizational culture, values, and goals.
? Regulatory Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and legal considerations related to mergers, acquisitions, and partnerships. Identify and mitigate risks associated with strategic transactions, including regulatory, financial, and reputational risks.
? Leadership and Team Transformation: Build, mentor and lead a high performing, geographically distributed team of M&A and partnership professionals. Lead the continuous improvement of, and potentially transformation of market based transaction functions, optimizing culture, collaboration, processes, technologies, and resources to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
? Culture: Foster a positive, inclusive, collaborative, results-driven, and innovative organizational culture, aligning marketing, brand, and communications efforts with the organization's values, culture and future direction.

Required Education and Experience
? Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Finance, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
? Proven experience (minimum 10-12 years) in healthcare mergers, acquisitions, and partnerships, with a track record of success in executing complex transactions and driving growth.
